About the Role?

We are looking for an experienced FMCG Commercial / Sales Director to join this amazing Outsourced Sales & Marketing Agency becoming one of the most respected and largest sales and marketing Agencies in the UK & Ireland.

The purpose of the role is to plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability and to contribute as a senior manage to the running of the overall Convenience/Grocery operation.

Develop and manage a robust business strategy and effective ways of working
Build, maintain and develop internal relationships at all levels of the organisation
Build, maintain and develop external relationships with a view to maximising any potential new business opportunities
Work with the broader G1a and G1 Group to maximise any potential new business opportunities
Work and contribute as a key member of the leadership team at Grocery Board meetings

Accountability & Responsibility
Set the direction in line with business objectives, gaining buy-in
Establish team culture and values, manage change positively & lead by example
Demonstrate return on investment to the Principal, recommending any corrective action
Achievement of AOP
Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR
Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development
Plan and manage sales and marketing resources, according to agreed budgets
Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems
Own specific projects at an overall Grocery business level

Knowledge & Skills
Current working knowledge of expertise on retailer ways of working
Actively enhance sales management skills to ensure team achieves execution targetsEnsure team is maximising all potential income opportunities
Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation and protect and develop the Company’s brands via suitable PR activities and intellectual property management
Represent the overall business externally at industry events

Decision Making
Challenge The Agency and Principal ways of working; offer/& apply insight to improve processes & maximise ROI
Work with other Directors & the Controller Group to establish market trends and understand root causes
Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for sales and marketing

Innovation & Creativity
Translate business strategy to support Principal execution and growth plans in order to maximise ROI
Identify growth opportunities and shape The Agency business plan
Manage research & development, new product development and new business development

People Development & Support
Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law

Track team performance against agreed KPIs and other business measures
Actively seek and develop your expertise in current trends and the latest corporate performance management tools
Ensure high standards within the Agency competencies and behaviours for you and your team, coaching and leading by example

Support ongoing talent and succession planning, identifying “high potential” colleagues
